KHRC Gets New Ultra-Modern Conference Block

The Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) has received its newly refurbished, state-of-the-art conference facility, designed to host seminars, trainings, and conferences more seamlessly to further enhance the Centre’s operations.


The new conference building, which was renovated by Grenel Engineering Services, was officially handed over to the KHRC on 3rd October 2024. The ultra-modern facility features a 100-seater capacity conference hall, a reception area, a cold room to store samples and medications, and two additional offices for the Kintampo Health Demographic Surveillance System’s (KHDSS) and the Monitoring teams. The building also includes a generator room for backup power.


The KHRC, which is known for its high-quality health research that informs national health policies to improve healthcare delivery, has integrated advanced technology into its operations, which necessitated the refurbishment of the conference facilities into an ultra-modern and technologically advanced space.


Additional improvements to the building include the installation of 13mm AMP cables, CCTV cameras in all the office spaces, smoke detectors, modern universal electrical power outlets with functionalities capable of providing emergency power when the main power fails, remodeling of the ceiling, tiling of floors and installation of eaves.


Mr. Owusu Boahen, Chief Health Research Officer, along with Management Members and staff of the KHRC received the keys to the newly refurbished facility on behalf of the Director. The team expressed excitement about the upgrade, highlighting that the ultra-modern facility will significantly improve the Centre's work and support its mission.
